Day 11 - Buckingham Palace & Hyde Park

Today I learned a little bit about Londoners...apparently if you can't pay for your coffee in small amount of change and only have a 20 they get pissed at you, macchiatos here are just shots of expresso with a little dab of milk on them and they don't like to stop for pedestrians. Okay, okay that might have been an overgeneralization but I'm a little bit bitter about having gotten a gross drink I didn't think I was getting, having the guy be mad at me when I'm trying to pay him and almost getting run over! Thanks for letting me vent...moving on.
The girls of J1 and J2 (our flats) made an adventure to the Buckingham Palace today! We were just in time, in fact we ran there to be on time, to see the changing of the guards and get some

iconic London pictures of the Queen's guards. Also around there we got to see the grounds a little bit and enjoy the gigantic statues and fountain in front of her house. Unfortunately there are no tours of the palace until the end of July so Mary and I already penciled that into our planners : )

This is me super excited to be by a fountain in front of Buckingham Palace!

Next we ventured over to Hyde park which was crazy today because there is a Jay-Z concert happening today in the park but because of it's massive size, everyone dispersed into their own patch of grass and could enjoy the amazing weather we've had today! There was also this really cool tree, I've never seen anything like it before but it was like a little hut, just made out of curved branches and leaves and you could climb all of the way to the top from inside!

Well happy 4th of July!! Mary asked me today if I thought there would be any celebrations in London and I said probably not because we did win our independence from England after all ha I'll be missing the fireworks and bbq food tonight!
